Kuhio Shores 305, Our Jewel on The Sea, completely remodeled, refurnished and re-equipped. Luxury, beauty & comfort right on the water! When we first walked into what was to become our new home in Kauai, the views of the ocean, coastline, and lush green of the hills and palms literally took our breath away! Located on a snorkeling beach and a summer surfing favorite, we could see turtles feeding below the lanai and blowholes out in the distance. Around the corner we saw where we had first learned to snorkel, next to one of the best restaurants in all of Kauai, the Beach House. We immediately made an offer. Our one bedroom condo exceeds our dreams!

If you are on your honeymoon, wish to recapture the romance in your relationship or you just want to experience the awesome beauty and serenity of this jewel on the sea by yourself, with your family or friends, this is the ideal home for you to rent while vacationing on the Garden Island of Kauai.

In our completely private third floor condominium, the only thing you hear is the crashing of the waves. As soon as you open the front door, your eyes go out to the ocean. You have unobstructed views from the kitchen, living room, bedroom, dining room and of course, the lanai.

Completely remodeled for the most discriminating guest, our home reflects the Hawaiian tropics. Beauty and comfort are our priority. Bamboo floors glisten in the light of the morning sunrise. New granite countertops and paint, in tropical greens and earth tones, create a peaceful, clean atmosphere.

The ultra luxurious king size bed, with memory foam pillowtop is the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on (contour memory foam was developed by NASA). The chenille queen size pull-out couch has a five inch thick mattress (no bars or poking springs). Two Hawaiian style Lazyboy reclining chairs are perfect for laying back to watch waves, listen to CDs or watch cable TV. The hand carved dining room table with rattan chairs is your exclusive seat to spot playful spinner dolphins. Artwork reflects the lushness and peace of Kauai. Relax on the lanai. Seeing a rainbow or the moon shimmering over the water will create lifetime memories. The "Aloha Spirit" truly exists on the island of Kauai and we have done our best to bring this spirit into our home.

Activities: We have some Kauai guidebooks in the living room. In Kauai you can sightsee, hike, bike, snorkel (two of the best spots are at the condo), fish, sail, dive, surf, boogie board, golf, visit botanical gardens (the National Garden is one mile, next to the blow hole, at Spouting Horn and, incidentally, where our road ends, thus limiting traffic.), visit museums, kayak, take boat tours, helicopter tours, AV tours (go to movie sites), shop, go horseback riding or just relax. Our teenage daughter loves to go to Koloa town to eat Lappert's famous ice cream and visit the quaint shops and art galleries. We also enjoy shopping at the outdoor stands at Spouting Horn where beautiful carvings, masks and gifts for friends can be found.

Amenities: Just about everything is new in our 854-square-foot home. Top quality throughout: Floor-to-Ceiling Windows for Spectacular Views, Comfortable Seating on the Lanai, Fully-equipped Kitchen with New Blender, Microwave, Coffeemaker, Dishwasher, Cookware, Dishes, Etc. Bathroom has New Granite/Maple Vanity, Luxurious King size "Memory Foam" Pillow top with SeaCell sheets (said to impart nutrients to the skin), Ultra Thick Queen Size Pullout Sofa, Three Ceiling Fans, Plantation Shutters, TV, VCR, Stereo CD Player, Video Tapes, CDs, Games and Books on Kauai (a great guidebook), Novels and Non-fiction, Beach Mats, Beach Chairs, Two Boogie Boards (great for novice snorkeling, as well as boogie boarding), Cooler, Ice Packs, Some Snorkel Gear (if staying more than a week, it is a good idea to buy top quality gear before your trip; there are two dive shops nearby that rent gear), Linens and Towels, Bamboo and Tile floors (Carpet in bedroom), Laundry Room on our floor, Barbecue Area, Private Beach Access, Outdoor Showers, and Elevator.

New: Rich, classic Italian Noccino marble shower with stone accents; Verdi Peacock Gold Brazilian Granite countertop in the kichen and new stainless steel appliances.

Dear Molla,
We can not thank you enough for sharing your island home with us. We had a wonderful visit to Kaua'i! We would have been happy spending the entire trip sitting on the Lanai watching the waves, whales and the sea turtles. We did venture out to see a good bit of the island and are looking forward to future trips when we can see some more.

Your condo is lovely and very comfortable. The pride of ownership is apparent in all the beautiful natural materials you have used and they really enhance the experience there.

We will definately refer your condo to our friends and family (my mother is all ready interested and talking to my dad) and hope to stay with you again when we are able to return. I can't imagine better accomodations anywhere.
Mahalo,
Dr. Susan Lucas

Hello.
I absolutely had a wonderful time!!!! I ended up with over 300 photos after editing. I had purchased a digital underwater camera before I left and was able to get some unbelievable photos with the turtles. Four of the days that I snorkeled, I had turtles actually come and swim beside of me. They acted half tame and the one day I had to keep stopping because one kept coming underneath me. I honestly thought the fish were far superior to any that I have seen in the Caribbean. My only disappointment was that on the day I was leaving a local said he had seen some of the dragon eels on the Beach House side near the break. But that is always a good reason to go back!!! I went to Tunnels Beach and was equally awed. Again there were very tame turtles following me. I also went to the light house which was breath taking. There was a monk seal sunning itself on the beach. There are so many sites to see, that one cannot definitely do them all in a week!!! I found the locals wonderful and they were eager to point out their favorite beaches. One being Larsen's beach which I went to as well as the Maha'ulepu beaches. I also did the helicopter trip with Air Kauai and I cannot say enough about them. And the food on the island, unbelievable!!! I am sure I gained weight but I am not checking!!! The moonfish or Opah has become my favorite fish.

I cannot thank you enough for the accommodations. It felt liked a very loved home and the sound of the ocean in the background kept work very far away. I think I turned the TV on once for the weather. There was just so many things I wanted to see that the week just flew by. I was shocked that it was time to leave. I did the Allerton Botanical garden tour also and was so impressed by my tour guide. I am not used to guides climbing up trees to get you samples of some of the fruits. Some of the nicest people I have ever met!!! And lastly, I was amazed at the cleanliness of the entire island. Others should take note!!! I definitely want to return!!! I am so happy you are going there soon. It is paradise!!! Well enough of my ramblings. Again thank you so much for sharing the joys of your home!!!

Molla,
We had an AWESOME time!! #305 is definitely one of the better, if not the best, units in the complex. We know this as a result of conversations with several other guests. Also, the owners of the other units were very friendly and helpful. We checked out the other resorts in the area (and in Princeville) and without a doubt your's is the best, with views of the water and related ocean life. We observed turtles (like you said), dolphins, and whales from the Lanai. We had a great time. We'll definitely tell our friends/family about your unit and our experience. When we go back with our daughter we'll definitely stay at your place!!!

Thank you for all your help and with helping us experience the great island of Kauai.
Mahalo,
Tim Lalley, Idaho

Anyone who has been to Kauai knows about its beauty, etc. Having stayed at Kuhio Shores before, I wanted to talk specifically about 305. Your artwork and decor are exquisite!!! The bed and bedding were the most comfortable I have ever slept in when traveling. When I first saw the bamboo floor, I thought why do this in a condo for rent. Now I know. When the floor reflects the sunlight, it's very beautiful. As I told you we saw a complete rainbow from the lanai the first afternoon we arrived.

I know that you love your "jewel by the sea," but to spend the money and importantly the thought that went into your remodel when you are renting it out most of the time is too good to be true.We look forward to next year.

Kindest personal regards,
Anita, San Francisco

After settling into the condo, upon our arrival here on Kauai, we found the condo to have the comforts of home. It is difficult to say what is my favorite feature of the condo as the bamboo floors was wonderful, the decor ideal and bedroom quite comfy. Listening to the constant ocean opus one is drawn into a world of wonder. Sitting in a chair, or lounging out on the lanai is more likely the best. The view is amazing and the turtles so cute. Each and every day we have had the pleasure of waking up in the morning to the glorious sounds and sight of the morning air. The entire wall of the condo facing the ocean is of glass and the view is amazing. It has been so nice being able to cook as we please and eat out when we wish. One nice feature is that one of the best restaurants on the island is right next door. Earlier in my writings I have mentioned The Beach House; right next to the complex is this joint of delight with heavenly entrees and dessert of delight. We have greatly enjoyed our stay here at Kuhio Shores and upon my future returns to Kauai I hope to make unit 305 my home away from home again.

The condo was a dream. We loved it!! We didn't miss one sunrise (we were still on Michigan time!) We just got back today @4pm after leaving the Big Island at 9pm last night. It's a long trip! We stayed at a mega resort on the Big Island, but hands down we loved the condo so much more.

I'll put the keys in the mail tomorrow. I'll also do a review on The Knot in my wedding review. Hope you don't mind a few more brides!

Cross my fingers we'll be back some day. Probably with a kid or two!!

Aloha Molla,
I am in a jet lagged coma as I write this but I had to tell you how WONDERFUL your condo was and what a fabulous vacation we had in Kauai!!!!!!! Your home couldn't have been more perfect...location, views, comfort......you name it!!! Leaving there was not easy and if it weren't for my best friend Lola....my Black Lab......I might have just called Kauai home base and never left!!!!!!

We had a great week and were total beach bums.......we loved Maha'ulepu and enjoyed the beach there alot of the time......we did go to Ke'e one day which was a knockout.......snorkeled with lots of sea turtles there and did a bit of hiking on the Kalalau Trail which gave us great views of the beach and a look at the Na Pali Coast......

We loved going to "Your" beach late in the day for more snorkeling and relaxation.........

We spent some time at Waimea Canyon one day which was amazing......a canyon on one side of the road and an ocean on the other......does it get any better than that????

We loved the Beach House Restaurant.......great food........we did dinner there one night and appetizers 2 other nights........guess we just couldn't keep away!!! :)

Ate at Roy's which was great and Keoke's which was good......of course we had to try them all.....no stone was left unturned.........

Did the Luau at the Hyatt which we also loved......great food and entertainment........and just walking around the grounds of the Hyatt was enough of a treat!!!

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us....sitting on the lanai with the waves and turtles was more than we had hoped for...we would love to visit again one day and would only consider staying at your place......it was GREAT!!!!!!!!

We will recommend it to anyone we know that is going to Kauai...........

Thanks again Molla.......

Mahalo Molla & Kevin,
The photos do not convey the beauty of your condo. It is clean with all the natural stone and bamboo. It is very comfortable, too. I would relax on one of the recliners, just watching the waves from inside, and before I knew it, I had taken a little cat nap. The sounds of the ocean are so relaxing and the furnature is so comfortable, My wife especially appreciates how tastefully it was remodeled without all of the kitch you see in a lot of these condos in the islands. We have done extensive travel, but we love it in Kauai ,so much so that we plan to come back as much as we can, and would only consider staying in your condo. We also appreciated the Feng Shui elements employed in the condo. It feels very balanced.

We will recommend your condo to all of our friends and relatives.

Aloha Molla,
We had such an amazing time in Kauai and can't thank you enough for providing us with such a great place to stay. I said "hello" to the turtles for you! They were so cute. We definitely hope to return in the future and won't hesitate to recommend your condo to any of our friends. We absolutely loved Kauai - it was so beautiful (I took about 3500 pictures in the 11 days that we were there if that's any hint as to how much we loved it). It was very difficult to return!

Mahalo,
Cecilia Andrews, GA

Kuhio Shores is located in the area known as Poipu just south of Old Town Koloa. The building is less than 2 miles from Poipu Beach and it is also within walking distance of Spouting Horn. Prince Kuhio Park is located across the street as is the Prince Kuhio condo resort.
